Alyssa Fujita Karoui is a Japanese-Tunisian artist based in San Francisco. Alyssa left the corporate world of Information Systems consulting for the life-changing pursuit of photography. She graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute in the Fall of 2015 with a BFA in photography and worked as the Director of Programs at LensCulture. She has been living and working as an artist in the Bay Area since 2012.
Her work explores transcendent moments of pure seeing. Her images are invitations to pause, small meditations creating space for contemplation and reflection upon a shared perceptual existence.
Alyssa exhibited widely within the Bay Area and internationally, at the Diego Rivera Gallery (San Francisco, California), 1099 Gallery (San Francisco, California), Los Angeles Center for Photography (Los Angeles, California), Praxis Gallery (Minneapolis, Minnesota), PH21 Gallery (Budapest, Hungary) and the Datz Museum of Art (Seoul, South Korea).
